Candidates announced

The Search and Nominating Committee thanks all who submitted nominations or applications. The variety and depth of experience and gifts for ministry among the applicants was wonderful, and the committee was faced with a challenging opportunity to discern prayerfully those individuals who should be invited to continue in the process leading to the nomination of candidates. Throughout our discussions, we referred to the profile and priorities for the diocese described on the search website, developed as a result of the Listening Sessions, Clergy and Spouse Focus Groups, and the January survey.

Following the close of the application period on March 24, the committee studied the personal profiles, resumes, and answers to three questions written by all applicants. We then conducted telephone interviews with selected applicants and their references. The next step was sending teams to visit applicants, hear them preach, and talk with additional references.  Selected applicants and their spouses were then invited to Kansas City to talk with the entire committee.

On behalf of the Search and Nomination Committee, the chair presented three nominees to the Standing Committee on July 29. The Standing Committee announced the slate of candidates on August 3.  You can get more information on them here.
